PERRY COUNTY, TN - (WOPC) Perry County Sheriff Nick Weems announced that Perry Hand was arrested at Drop Anchor during the early morning hours on Tuesday, May 19th 2026. 

 

Hand has been on the run for 15 years from Florida, going by the alias of Wendell Peppers, the Sheriff tells WOPC. 

 

During the arrest, officers say they seized marijuana, a handgun and $5710 cash. 

 

Hand was transported and remains currently in the Perry Co jail, where he is being booked on additional charges.
